Research Interests:

Our laboratory work focuses on signal transduction by cyclic nucleotide-dependent protein kinases, especially on the effects of cAMP and cGMP on cell growth and differentiation. We are studying transcriptional regulation by the NO/cGMP/G-kinase pathway and exa`mining the interaction of G-kinases with transcription factors and various anchoring proteins which determine subcellular localization and function of G-kinases. In addition, we are studying the mechanisms by which cAMP and NO/cGMP regulate the activity of Ras, Rap1 and RhoA; these three GTP-binding proteins are involved in growth factor signalling and control of cell motility and adhesion and are critically important for the growth, invasion and metastasis of cancer cells.
