Professor of Orthopaedics and Bioengineering
Ph.D., University of California, Davis
Research Interests:

The muscle physiology studies the structure, function and plasticity of skeletal muscles at various levels. Studies range from gene transfection and gene expression studies in isolated multinucleated muscle cells to direct measurement of muscle mechanical and structural properties during human hand surgery. We apply both biological and engineering principles to the study of skeletal muscle.
