Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics
M.D., Ph.D., University of Rochester Medical School
Research Interests:

Mechanisms of innate defense by antimicrobial peptides and proteoglycans. Our work focuses on molecular events of wound repair and the participation of peptides and proteoglycans in the defense against infection and cellular activation of the repair process. A multidimensional approach is applied to these problems including techniques of molecular genetics, transgenic mice, cell culture, protein purification, and molecular microbiology.
