The Weinberger lab utilizes a combination of single-cell live-imaging techniques and mathematical modeling to study HIV and herpesviruses. One focus of the lab is on transcriptional regulation and the role of stochastic noise in gene-expression in mediating viral dormancy. Another focus of the lab is on developing novel antiviral approaches by manipulating viral gene expression.
