Our laboratory studies the mTOR (mammalian target of rapamycin) pathway in cell growth control and the dysfunction of this pathway in human disease. Much of the current research focuses on the molecular mechanism of mTOR regulation by growth factors, nutrients, cellular energy levels, and stress conditions. We are also investigating the novel Hippo tumor suppressor pathway with the long-term goals of identifying new components and upstream signals in the Hippo pathway.
