Laurence L. Brunton
Professor of Pharmacology and Medicine
Ph. D., University of Virginia
Research Interests:

My lab studies aspects of cyclic nucleotide metabolism, including synthesis, degradation and export, the actions of protein kinases regulated by cyclic nucleotides, and the affects of hormones on the components of this system. This work involves studying cross-talk with other signalling systems (for growth factors and Gq-linked receptors), effects of NO and the assessment of Ca++ signalling. For this work, we employ a variety of cultured cells and freshly isolated, purified cells from the heart.
