Professor of Medicine
Ph.D., Stanford University, M.A., Cambridge University
Research Interests:

Our research focuses on the mechanism of hormonal regulation of different cellular processes. At the genomic level, we are interested in how hormones can regulate alternative splicing of mRNAs. At the cellular level, we are interested in how insulin causes translocation and fusion of glucose transporter vesicles with the plasma membrane, and how gonadotropin releasing hormone stimulates pituitary gonadotropes to secrete LH and FSH. We also are using combinatorial chemistry to isolate agonists and antagonists for tyrosine kinase receptors.
